Registration

If you wish to rent accommodation from Woonbedrijf, then you first have to register as a housing seeker. Only those who are registered will be considered eligible for allocation of rented accommodation. Everyone aged 18 or over can register with Woonbedrijf free of charge. If you are not yet registered, then you can proceed to do so by completing the registration form contained on this website (unfortunately this form is only in Dutch).
  1. Simply complete each step of the online form, and your registration data will be confirmed on screen, together with a registration number.
  2. This data can be printed for future reference. In addition, however, you will also receive confirmation of your registration either by e-mail or by post (if you have no e-mail address).
  3. Take care to keep a note of your registration number and password, as you will require these if you wish to apply for any of the residential accommodation available on the Internet!

When you react to available houses your data has to be correct. If your data is not correct in the case of allocation we will withdraw our offer. For further explanation: react to available houses.

When does your registration period lapse?
Your registration period lapses whenever you obtain self-contained residential accommodation. This applies to both rented and owner-occupied housing. Self-contained residential accommodation implies that you have your own front door, kitchen, bathroom and lavatory.
Your registration period elapses regardless of whether the self-contained residential accommodation you move to is situated in the Netherlands or abroad. Nor does it make any difference whether you move to self-contained residential accommodation provided by Woonbedrijf, some other housing corporation or a private lessor, or to owner-occupied housing. In all such cases, your registration period elapses.

You invariably bear responsibility for the accuracy of your registration data. It is in your own best interest to report your change of address as soon as possible, using the alteration form on the Internet (again only available in Dutch). After all, your registration period will recommence from the moment that you report the change. Should you fail to report or delay in reporting a change of address, then we shall adjust your registration period according to the date that you report the change. Your registration period will be deemed to have remained at zero in the intervening period.

Moving to non-self-contained residential accommodation
You should also enter your change of address in your registration data using the alteration form if you move to non-self-contained residential accommodation. Although this implies that your registration period will initially be reduced to zero, you may submit a formal request to Woonbedrijf to reinstate your registration period. However, such requests shall only be honoured in cases where the applicants have proven to have moved to non-self-contained residential accommodation.
Moving to non-self-contained residential accommodation implies the following circumstances:

  • You are going to lodge with someone else temporarily (non-cohabitants)
  • You are going to rent a room temporarily (but will not have your own entrance, kitchen, bathroom and toilet)
The onus is on you to prove that you are moving to non-self-contained residential accommodation.

Fixed-term tenancy agreement
If you move to accommodation which you may only rent for a limited period of time, then the lessor will draw up a fixed-term tenancy agreement.
You should also enter your change of address in your registration data using the alteration form if you move to residential accommodation on the basis of a fixed-term tenancy agreement. Although this implies that your registration period will initially be reduced to zero, you may submit a formal request to Woonbedrijf to reinstate your registration period. However, your request shall only be honoured in the event that you can furnish evidence that you have entered into a fixed-term tenancy agreement.

Changes of circumstances
You invariably bear responsibility for both the currency and accuracy of your registration data. In the event that any change of circumstances occurs with respect to your registration data, such as a change in income, then you should amend your data accordingly on the Internet using the alteration form. You also bear personal responsibility to report any change of address whatsoever using the Internet alteration form.
Please note: In the event that you obtain self-contained residential accommodation, then your registration period will be reduced to zero. For further details, please consult the paragraph headed 'When does your registration period lapse?' above.
You will receive e-mail confirmation of all changes to your data. If you do not have an e-mail address, then you will receive confirmation by post. Failure to receive confirmation invariably means that something has gone wrong. In that event, please contact by telephone on 040 - 2 43 43 43.

When applying for housing that is due to become vacant, you must ensure that all your data is both current and accurate! In the event that you are to be allocated accommodation, your data will first be checked; any discrepancy found may therefore lead to withdrawal of the offer. For further details of such matters, please consult reageren op vrijkomende woningen [applying for available housing].

Ending your registration
After you have filled out the registration form, you are registered with Woonbedrijf as a housing seeker. Of course you can end you registration with us if you are nog longer interested in a house of Woonbedrijf. You can send us a written request to end your registration. Send you letter to Woonbedrijf, Postbox 280, 5600 AG Eindhoven.

Student accommodation
If you are a student and a housing seeker, then you are naturally also entitled to register with Woonbedrijf. However, special student accommodation is also available in Eindhoven. To become eligible for this student accommodation, however, you also have to register separately with Vestide. Vestide is a subsidiary of Woonbedrijf and operates as an autonomous division, which focuses solely on accommodating students and ‘short-stayers’ in Eindhoven. For further information, please consult: www.Vestide.nl.
If you are a tenant with Vestide and wish to also register with Woonbedrijf, then your period of stay with Vestide can be included as extra registration period. This period of stay is the uninterrupted time during which (from the moment of registration with Woonbedrijf) you have been a tenant with Vestide. The date of signing of the (first) lease for this continuous period with Vestide will then apply as the date of registration as a houding seeker with Woonbedrijf.

Bonus scheme for ‘loyal tenants’
Registration is also important to existing Woonbedrijf tenants from now on, as your registration period will be taken into consideration during the allocation of available housing. Woonbedrijf is keen to assist long-standing tenants in fulfilling their latest housing requirements, by granting them some form of priority to other their housing seekers. Loyal Woonbedrijf tenants who register as housing seekers, will therefore be granted a bonus registration period with a view to boosting their chances of being allocated available housing. The amount of bonus granted depends on the duration of the tenant’s existing tenancy agreement.

Tenants who have been renting Woonbedrijf housing for ten years or more are entitled to a bonus. Whenever such tenants register as housing seekers, they will therefore automatically be granted a bonus registration period of one year. Furthermore, they will be granted an additional month for each year in excess of the ten-year period of residency. (For example: if a person who has a 25-year period of residence registers, then his or her registration period will automatically commence at 2 years and 3 months. He or she is therefore entitled to a bonus equivalent to 27 months in total.)
